SPRAY DEPOSITION (HELICOPTER)

TVB® on a Bell 206 using .045" wedge nozzles to apply brush control herbicides to a utility right-of-way, applying 20 gallons per acre at 25 mph.

Fears and McMaster reported that in a 1982 field study, the TVB® Boom mounted on a Bell 47G Helicopter deposited 99.5% of the spray in the swath using .045" nozzles at 32 mph. This study, which compared the deposition from the Raindrop, the Microfoil and the TVB® Boom mounted on a helicopter, indicated that the TVB® gave the highest deposition of spray in the swath. The same study showed spray deposition from a TVB® Boom mounted on an Ag-Cat and an Air Tractor Fixed-Wing Aircraft. Copies of this study are available on request.
